Stefano Bettelli studied Physics at the University of Pisa (IT),
at the same time attending the Scuola Normale Superiore.
He participated in the CDF experiment in Giorgio Bellettini's group,
and graduated in 1996 with a thesis on the measurement of the mass of
the top quark. After a delay due to compulsory military service, he
joined the theoretical Physics group at the University of Trento (IT),
where he received his PhD in 2002 with a thesis on models for quantum
programming. He then moved to the Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse (FR)
working on models of decoherence in quantum computers, quantum algorithms and
error-correction codes, financed through a Research-and-Training grant by the
European Union. Since January 2006 he is at ARCS as a Hertha-Firnberg fellow,
working on quantum cryptography, quantum information theory and decoherence
in physical models of quantum computers.
