Alessandro Fedrizzi studied technical physics at the University of
Technology Vienna, with the focus on ion physics and quantum optics.
Returning from a one year stay at the 'Universidad Autonoma de Madrid'
in Spain, he joined Prof. Zeilinger's group for his diploma thesis
about compact entangled photon sources for quantum cryptography.
After his graduation he stayed with the project as a PhD student and
is now working on the integration of entanglement based cryptography
systems into modern optical fiber networks.
