Christian Kollmitzer studied Applied Computer Science with a special emphasis on security and cryptography. His thesis focused on stream ciphers. Before finishing his studies he took up work at the ARCS in the department of Information Technology. Since 2000 he has been responsible for security matters involving international projects dealing with the IETF and several departments of the European Community. He has also managed national projects in the areas of cryptography, security standards, security architecture and biometry. He contributes to the quantum cryptography team within this fields.
