Christian Monyk studied physics at the University of Vienna. His first job in the semiconductor industry brought a lot of experiences in the management of research and development projects. After that he held the position of the secretary general of the VTÖ (Association of Austrian Technology Centres) for three years. This activity and his occupation as product manager at Mobilkom Austria helped to deepen his ability to manage development projects and brought additional experience in management skills. Christian Monyk is the head of the business unit "Quantum Cryptography" of ARCS and is the co-ordinator of this project.
