Julia Petschinka studied physics at the University of Vienna.
She wrote her diploma thesis, tutored by Anton Zeilinger, on
"Foundations of the Talbot-Lau-Interferometer for molecules" and finished her studies in August 2001.
Between October 2001 and October 2003 she worked as a scientific
researcher in the group of Prof. Zeilinger on an automated quantum
cryptographic set-up. Between October 2002 and October 2003 she received
a post gradual training on "science communication, -journalism and -public relations" in Vienna.
In November 2003 she joined the business unit Quantum Technologies of ARC where
she is responsible for public relations and coordination of the Integrated Project
SECOQC. She is also an expert for strategic corporate communication, as well as for
intranet communication solutions. She has ample experience in using new communication
technologies and media and already successfully accomplished several communication
projects. She is a writer for scientific journals and also for a leading German
Flamenco magazine, she is a photographer and she is a blogger.
