Michael Vanner is currently studying a specialized double bachelor in electronic engineering and science majoring in physics, with a strong emphasis on project work at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. Having previously worked on experimental projects such as photonic crystals and Bose-Einstein condensates, Michael developed a keen interest in quantum physics and decided to join the group of Prof. Zeilinger to complete his main undergraduate thesis. He is now currently working on new sources of polarization entangled photons produced by asymmetric down-conversion for long distance quantum key distribution in telecommunication fibers.
